Franz Nicolay plans new EP for November Franz Nicolay has announced plans for a new EP, St. Sebastian Of The Short Stage. Due out November 10, 2009, the album will be available in both 10-inch vinyl and digital formats. The vinyl will be available as one of 500 copies (200 clear, 300 black). Each record includes a free mp3 download for all the songs, a pullout poster insert and an exclusive new short story by Nicolay entitled "Paraska Mikhailivna Is A Witch." Also, for a limited time all pre-orders will receive a free Franz Nicolay corkscrew and button set.
The album features artwork by Nicholas Gazin and a collaboration with the Dresden Dolls on a cover of Jonathan Richman's "New England," a Watchmen-inspired tribute to a retired superhero, and two songs self-described as "bleeding heart weepies."
