As for who will be playing the singing Peter Parker in the supermusical, which previews Feb. 25 and stars Alan Cumming and Evan Rachel Wood, Taymor didn't say. But she did say who's behind the subtitle: U2's Bono, who, along with guitarist The Edge, is scoring Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Taymor found the subtitle's optimistic spirit perfect for a perennially lighthearted Spidey, who's suddenly found himself swimming upstream against the 21st century's strengthening tide of terror. "The one thing that Spider-Man is about is trying to bring a certain kind of light back into a world that is full of darkness, and full of drama and terror," Taymor said.
